With its launch anchored to the 2019 General Elections, the ‘Ab Meri Baari’ campaign interacted with adolescents through multiple channels in Rajasthan and Jharkhand, to raise awareness on voting and civic engagement.

With the objective of creating normative change, driving social accountability, and increasing the efficacy and agency of adolescents, close to 300 Girl Champions were trained to design and conduct a social audit to assess efforts by their local governments in the areas of education, sexual and reproductive health, nutrition and safety.

In its current phase, the Girl Champions presented a Charter of Recommendations with observations from their social audits through a Bus Tour across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand.

OUTCOMES

  • Reach and inspire 20 million adolescents in a period of three years through the Ab Meri Baari campaign

  • 300 adolescent champions raised awareness on a range of issues- health, education, nutrition, sexual and reproductive health
