We started our Ab Meri Baari campaign in 2019 to bring about normative change through strategic engagement between adolescents and key stakeholder groups to not only increase efficacy and agency of adolescents but to also influence the mindset of stakeholders in the ecosystem — government, media, public, parents, teachers and peers, among others. However, when the world was hit by the pandemic, so were the adolescents and youth. The pandemic has significantly disrupted their lives in more ways than one. In an effort to help young people navigate the pandemic and its consequences, the 10to19 Dasra Adolescents Collaborative has leveraged various digital tools and platforms to engage with young people on critical issues that affect their well-being. Yuvaa is one of the key Digital Engagement partner for the Collaborative.
The Ab Meri Baari podcast as well as the Instagram handle is an initiative and space of, by and for the girls to raise their voices and become advocates for their rights and their community’s well being. Through this podcast and channel listeners and viewers can experience their stories, struggles and an undying drive to work towards a brighter future filled with equal opportunities.
